Historical Musicology

The field of music history sometimes is also called as historical musicology. It is the much higher discipline present in musicology that studies the composition of music. It also studies about the performance of music. Historical studies are related to the composer's life and works and also the styles and genres. Music history is also the study of the history of any type of music like the history of classic Indian music etc. Music and its history go far beyond what we can imagine.
